Peep that Scamper highlight video to experience the look, feel, and vibe of the Smelter City Scamper. 

 

Join us for the 2024 Smelter City Scamper in Anaconda, Montana! The Scamper is one event in the weekend-long Smeltermen's Days Celebration. All races start and end in the Kennedy Commons. The four races that make up the Smelter City Scamper are outlined below. 

Race Day Details!
 

SCAMPER SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: 

Friday, August 8

4pm - 6pm Packet Pick ups @ Pintler’s Portal Hostel (218 W Park st. ). 

 

Saturday August 9 

6:30am - 9:30am Packet Pick ups at the start line 

7:30am - Half Marathon start time

8am - 10K start time

8:30am - 5k start time

10:30am - 1 block kid run.  (There will be various rounds of the kid run broken down into age groups, but all parents and their children should assume they will run at 10:30am when it starts.) 

11am - Awards Ceremony in the Kennedy Commons

Noon - Brewfest, Food Trucks, and Live Music in the Kennedy Commons

 

PACKET PICK UPS: 

Friday August 8 from 4pm - 6pm @ Pintler’s Portal Hostel (218 W Park st. ). 

Saturday August 9 from 6:30am - 9:30am at the start line  

The Friday packet pick up is recommended for all who are able to make it then/there. 

 

RACE PACKETS:

This year all paid runners will receive a free t-shirt will our new Scamper design.  

The 8 and under kid receive a race packet that does not include a t-shirt because run for free, but kid shirts will be available for purchase. 

Many local businesses will be placing coupons and gifts in the race packs. Be sure to look at all of those items upon receiving your packet as many of them are only redeemable over the Smelterman’s Day weekend. 

 

RACE COURSE

All races will start and end at the Kennedy Commons.

5K

Half Marathon

 

There will be a biker leading each race to ensure the lead runner follows the correct race route. 

There will also be many volunteers directing our runners and mile makers specific to each race. 

Water/aid stations will be set up every 2 miles on the race course.

Restrooms will be at the start/finish line, and there will be one restroom half way through the half marathon.
