You read that right! SCRC is hosting its first Dodgeball Tournament on Sat. April 9 which will be held at the Memorial Gym!! Dodgers ages 2 - 102 are welcome to join in on the fun and dodge for a cause!! There will be 8 divisions to ensure that all interested parties are able to play and slay. The divisions are broken down as follows:

  1. 2nd grade and under

  2. 3rd & 4th Coed

  3. 5th & 6th Coed

  4. 7th & 8th Coed

  5. HS 9th - 12th Coed

  6. 18+ Open Competitive Coed

  7. 18+ Open Elite Coed

  8. 55+ Coed

Those in the 2nd grade and under division will sign up as individuals instead of as teams, and registration will be free of charge. They will participate in a kids vs. adults dodgeball gauntlet that has been designed to be kid-friendly and fun.

All other divisions will include competition amongst teams that are coed and can be made up of a maximum of 6 people, with 3 girls minimum. Ridiculous costumes, neon headbands, and hilarious team names are encouraged. Read through the general rules and info that can be found at the links below to ensure you are game-day ready.

In between games you can fuel up at the 406 Bistro food truck or the Coffee Corral coffee truck that will be parked outside the gymnasium.

If you are traveling from out of town, be sure to book a room at Pintler's Portal Hostel who is our lodging sponsor for the event. The fun-having doesn't need to stop at the gym - a stay at the hostel allows you to hang out all evening long in the shared kitchen, dining room, and game rooms.

Thank you to these three companies who have generously offered to donate a portion of the proceeds they make from dodgers back to SCRC. Should you decide to stay at Pintler's Portal pictured here, be sure to mention you are there for the tournament!

All proceeds from the event will go directly toward funding the development of the future Smelter City Recreation Complex. Read more about our non-profit organization here: smeltercityrc.org.

Registration is Open! Start putting together your team today and work toward obtaining all the dodgeball glory.
